Are We the Next Colorado?

Find out how marijuana legalization has changed the state of Colorado and what it means for California, our communities and our youth.

What: Ben Cort, drug policy expert, Colorado resident and advisor to the nonprofit Smart Approaches to Marijuana, will discuss the outcomes of marijuana legalization in Colorado.

When: Tuesday, March 8, 2016, doors open at 6:30; speaker begins at 7 p.m.

Who: Parents, business owners and community members who want to know how marijuana legalization has affected Colorado and how it could affect San Clemente.

Where:  San Clemente Community Center, 100 N. Calle Seville

Discussion and Q&A:

  • Can we protect kids from the harm that early marijuana use and normalization will bring?
  • How does legal marijuana affect the education of our youth?
  • What is the economic cost of legalization? Will tax revenue keep up with social and health care costs?
  • How dangerous is weed today and what are the health effects?
  • Is it true that marijuana reduces IQ?
  • Does legalized marijuana lead to more traffic accidents? How will we keep stoned people from driving?
  • How will legalization affect the growing number of sober living facilities and homeless in San Clemente?
  • Will marijuana legalization affect property values?

Who: Parent’s of all teens, appropriate for adults only

Tours every half hour
